Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR
It's been a month, I think, since I participated last. I feel bad about that so I will make up for it with teases from a couple of the books I am currently reading.
"Emotional independence means that you are in charge of your own mood. Just as your spouse cannot make you angry, your spouse is not there to make you happy. Only you can do that."
~ page 46, Shut Up and Stay Married - The Secret to Marriage Success by Yisroel Roll
"For she never lost her faith in true love, and she knew, somewhere deep inside, that he was still alive. She would know if he wasn't. The world would stop if he was no longer part of it,
she was certain of that."
~ page 146, The Map of True Places by Brunonia Barry
PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays post, or share your ‘teasers’ in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks!
So very true.

Hope a lot of couples read that marriage book. There's rarely a good reason for divorce and it contributes little to the world that's positive.

Tossing It Out
Oh, these are both awesome teasers. I've been wanting to read The Map of True Places, and now I'm adding the other book to my list, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog.
Both teasers are really great. And I disagree - your SO can make you spitting mad.

The author's whole idea is that you control your emotions and no one but you can decide if you will allow something to someone to make you mad. I am still struggling with this a little myself, because I swear some people have that goal in mind!
ReplyDeletevery interesting teasers.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I agree with the first teaser although I see where the author is going with that. Some things are just maddening whether done my a stranger or spouse.
I'm sure there are things that people can do that can cause anger universally.
