Do You Judge a Book By Its Cover? Follow My Book Blog Friday Blog Hop 4/8/11

Do You Judge a Book By Its Cover?

I do more than I care to admit.  There are some books that I will read regardless of the cover because I know the author and love their work or the book came highly recommended.  Some books have the BEST covers and you just can't resist them.  Take Quicksilver as an example.

I haven't read this book yet but I love this cover!  My daughter, 18, read it and loved the book.  Just take a look at the hidden pictures on this cover and the colour is superb!   It sits on my TBR list and waits....  I have books for reviews that I must read first but this one is getting close to the top of the list, finally.  I am definitely looking forward to spending some time with this novel.

How about you?  Do you judge a book by its cover?  If so, have they been as good in content as the cover suggests?

  1. Hopping by to visit and follow! I'm entranced by pretty covers, too. They're not all that I consider when buying a book, but they definitely pull me in.

  2. I do more than I care to admit as well. I won't buy a book just because of a pretty cover - but I definately pick it up and read about it because of a pretty cover. And I'm ashamed to admit there are a few books I've been totally turned off of reading b/c of ugly covers.

  3. I've learned the hard way to never buy a book because it has a pretty cover, but I can't resist picking it up and reading the back of a pretty book! I'm already a follower. My FF is at Coffee Table Reviews

  4. Hi there! Just hopping through. :) Nice blog you have here. I'm following!

I tend to judge books by their covers, yes. But they're what makes me interested enough in a book so that I want to know more about it. The description is what decides if I'll buy it or not. :)

Usually the really nice covers don't contain the best stories. There's some though, like Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas. I've also heard Addicted by Charlotte Featherstone is really good and I love the cover on that one! Don't know how it is though. :)
