Hilary Mantel was awarded the Man Booker Prize today for her novel "Bring Up the Bodies." This is actually her second Man Booker Prize. Most people wait a lifetime for one while Hilary has taken two. The first for which she won was "Wolf Hall" in 2009.
"Well I don't know," Mantel said as she took the stage. "You wait 20 years for a Booker Prize, and two come along at once."
Britain's most prestigious literary fiction award is presented in London at a gala event each year. The winner of the Man Booker Prize receives about $80,000.
Congratulations Hilary!!!
