To be released in two parts, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again, began filming March of 2011 in New Zealand. The first part, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be released in theatres December 14, 2012 and the second part, The Hobbit: There and Back Again, expected release date is December 13, 2013.
