Teaser Tuesday With My Bookshelf

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading.  Anyone can play along.  Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) teaser sentences from somewhere on that page
  • Be careful not to include spoilers!  (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away!  You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

"Then everyone, even Mrs. Hackley, looked at me.  I swallowed the morsel of fish in my mouth without chewing.  I was not working in a carefree land of fantasy flamingoes and jewelled peacocks.  Now I understood the tension that made him smash vases."

"It was from Wally, dated October 25, 5:10 a.m., sent from his iPhone:  RG:  Hey, I'm alive.  Don't call the police and don't pay the ransom.  WF."

Please leave a comment.  You may leave a link to your TT post and I will be sure to visit you in return.

Teaser Tuesday!! 3/8/11

"I think that what I should do is stand up slowly, and then you should run for the woods."

"I'll take the basket," she volunteered in a low voice. "I will not share my raspberry tart with that oaf." ~ page 559, At Home in Mitford by Jan Karon

Doesn't that sound intriguing? I know some of you will likely remember the sequence of events that precipitated this conversation and followed directly afterwards! *mischievous grin*

Teaser Tuesdays is hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.  Please take a moment to introduce yourself and your teaser and then stop by Should Be Reading to join the linky.  Have a great day!

Teaser Tuesday - My Sister's Keeper - a peak between the covers

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading  and it asks us to...

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share a couple of “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title and author, too, so that other Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers.
My teaser comes from My Sister's Keeper written by Jodi Picoult.  Check back soon for the review.

Without another word, I walk out of her room, knowing Kate will follow.  I pass Anna, who abandons her coloring book to trail behind her sister.  In the basement, I pull out a pair of electric grooming clippers we found when we bought the house, and plug them in.  Then I cut a swath right down the middle of my scalp.
